CareNode
Privacy-first ambient intelligence for safer independent living.
CareNode
In development. This page intentionally contains only a high-level overview. Implementation details, sensor design, calibration and detection logic are not public.
Problem
Many families want to know that an older relative is okay — without putting a camera in their home. The current options are either invasive (cameras, always-on mics) or useless (no signal at all).
CareNode explores a third path: ambient sensing that understands presence and activity without seeing or hearing the person in a recognisable way.
Concept
A small, non-camera device that quietly understands what’s happening in a room — whether someone is there, how they’re moving, whether something seems off — and surfaces a calm signal to the people who need to know.
What it demonstrates
- Privacy-first ambient intelligence (no cameras, no audio recording)
- Edge AI for local decision making
- Compact, low-power hardware suitable for a home environment
Technology
- Radar
- Edge AI
- IoT
Status
IN DEVELOPMENT — early hardware and software prototypes are being tested. More details will be shared when the system is closer to a usable form.
